It is a well known fact that Ayushmann Khurrana is one super human being. Apart from acting, the talent powerhouse is also an ace singer, writer, host among others. If you follow him on social media, his profound tweets and poems are hard to miss. While he does share verses from popular poems and writings, we can't stop raving about the fact that the actor has been sharing his own verses too. And needless to say, we are fans of his work!

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Khurrana confessed that he plans on publishing a book of his own poems very soon. He said, “The biggest influence has been my mother (Poonam Khurrana), who has a Master’s degree in Hindi. My Hindi is good because of her! It was because of her that there’d be literature books in vernacular languages at my home while I was growing up. My father (P. Khurrana) was interested in poetry and ghazals, so that’s where my interest stemmed from.” While we wait for Khurrana to publish his book, here's a collection of our favourite verses, penned by the super talented artist!

We really hope Ayushmann Khurrana launches his collection of poems and verses, very soon!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Pharrell Williams - Celebrity Style Files

While one is a global HipHop sensation, the other is one of India's favourite B-town superstar. One creates ripples in the world of Rap, while the other leaves us stunned, every time she makes an appearance on the red carpet. Well, if you haven't guessed this one already, we are talking about Pharrell Williams and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The rocking duo have graced the cover of Vogue India this month, and needless to say, this photo shoot is 'lit'.

The cover story spread features Aishwarya in a gorgeous avatar, sporting some über chic looks, with the perfect attitude and panache! Ditto Pharrell, who is seen in some colourful outfits, most of which come from his latest collaboration with Adidas Originals - Hu Holi. Both the artists have been styled by Anaita Adajania Shroff, while the stunning images have been shot by Greg Swales.

As part of the cover story, the former Miss World talks about a variety of topics - ranging from life as a mother, her upcoming film - Fanney Khan, her thoughts on social media and more. "I spend all my time with Aaradhya, and I have one nanny, by choice. I read comments saying, “Ah, she must have an army of help” and I understand the perception, but I choose this way, which means life is always busy. I respect homemakers for the endless work they do," she adds, while talking about her busy schedule. The actress also confessed that she isn't completely averse to social media as such. "I do recognise its value, and if I feel the need I’ll embrace it—transparently and honestly," stated Aishwarya.

Pharrell, on the other side, talks about why music that comes with a message isn't a bad idea after all. "It doesn’t need to but it’s good that it does. I think everything we do should have some sort of message or intention, or else it’s just wasted energy,” he said.

If the excerpts are anything to go by, the cover story does look like an insightful conversation, which can make for a good read! Also, full props to the folks behind this photoshoot, as they got together two global icons, who are hitmakers in their own league! Our favourite image? This one, featuring Aish in a striking Balmain jacket and Tee, paired with Zara denims, while Pharrell keeps it cool in Adidas Originals. Love the vibe!

Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor to Walk for Mijwan at Designer Manish Malhotra's Fashion Showcase

It's that time of the year again, where the biggest names in films, fashion and business come together for the annual fundraiser fashion show hosted by the Mijwan Welfare Society. Designer Manish Malhotra is all set to put up a spectacular fashion show case - ‘The Walk Of Mijwan’ on April 9, showcasing the exquisite craft of Chikankari by the women of Mijwan, fashioned into contemporary silhouettes by Malhotra in his signature style. This is the 9th annual fundraiser for Mijwan in support of the movement started by Late Kaifi Azmi in 1993.

Ranbir Kapoor, Goodwill Ambassador of MWS since 2014, will be seen walking the ramp along with Deepika Padukone. This marks his return to the Mijwan ramp after four years. While confirming the news, Namrata Goyal said, "This will also be the first time that Deepika Padukone walks the ramp for the Mijwan Fashion show and we are so excited to have her support us."  While talking about the cause, Ranbir stated, “We, the young people of India, need to turn our attention towards rural India and focus on empowering the girl child. My sister Riddhima and I were raised as equals and I want every girl and boy to be treated equally. To my young friends, I say “Be the Change you wish to see in the world. You can do it, and your time starts now.”

with show stoppers Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma
Adds Deepika, "I have walked the ramp many times before, but this is truly a fashion show with a difference because Manish Malhotra bridges the urban - rural divide by taking the traditional craft of chikankari and fashioning it into contemporary silhouettes in his signature style. Mijwan Welfare Society's work over the last 9 years has been instrumental in giving the women and girl children of Mijwan the confidence to negotiate a better future for themselves. Congratulations to Shabanaji and Namrata for carrying forward Kaifi Saheb’s dream and inspiring us to become active participants in the process of change.”

During the showcase, two girls from Mijwan - Lalima Chauhan and Renu, who have studied at the Kaifi Azmi School and learned embroidery at the Centre (and are now teaching there), will also talk about their respective success stories. Today, they are proud to fund their further education themselves from the money they earn at the Centre. Chauhan says, "I am grateful to MWS for giving me the wings to fly and dream big. I have learned that girls and boys are equal. All that is needed is an opportunity. Thank you Mijwan for giving me that opportunity.”

The biggest change witnessed in Mijwan and surrounding areas has been the complete eradication of Child Marriage - a practice that was rampant till a few years ago. An emotional Shabana Azmi says, “My father once wrote 'Koi toh sood chukaye, Koi toh zimma ley uss inquilab ka jo aaj tak udhaar sa hai.' Through MWS we are trying to repay that debt.”

Birthday Special | 5 reasons to love Varun Dhawan

$

He made a sensational debut with KJo's larger than life college saga - Student of the Year. But, in less than six years, this talented actor has shown that he is not just here to portray regular 'chocolate boy' roles. Be it opting for an unusual love story in the form of October, acing the dual avatars of Raja and Prem in Judwaa 2, doing a revenge drama like Badlapur; actor Varun Dhawanhas shut down all the naysayers and proved his mettle as a talented actor with every film. With a 100% successful ratio at the BO and his fan base rising to the next level by the minute, Dhawan has become Bollywood's favourite young superstar. From playing a rich student - Rohan, to essaying a coming of age character like Dan, this energetic star has come a long way. As the versatile actor turns 31 today, we take a look at 5 reasons why everybody loves Varun!

Choice of films - Time and again, Varun has proved that he takes his job as an actor very seriously. His choice of films in a short span of six years speaks volumes about this. Instead of playing it safe and sticking to the same kind of roles, Varun took to experimenting and we must say, he did a fine job. Be it the fun loving Seenu or 'DDLJ ke scene pe rone wala' Humpty, we love the way Varun surprises us with his characters. His recent critically acclaimed film - October, where he won hearts and accolades alike for his splendid performance as Dan is proof. And with films like Kalank, Rannbhoomi among others in his kitty, we are excited to see him win more hearts already.

Being Humble - Admit it! Varun Dhawan has a huge fan following. His fan base isn't just stuck to a particular age group.  From kids, youngsters to even nana-nanis; everybody loves VD. Teenage girls can't stop gushing over his charm. And well, we have seen it with our eyes on multiple occasions. But instead of throwing air and maintaining distance, Varun obliges all his fans with autographs, selfies, photographs and listens to all their stories quite patiently. He loves interacting with his fans, be it during city tours for film promotions or through the #AskVarun Q&A sessions on Twitter.

Dancer Extraordinaire - We have a soft corner for people who can dance well and Varun Dhawan is hands down one of the best dancers in Bollywood today. His energy, impeccable footwork and flexible moves are a delight to watch. One look at him dancing in ABCD 2 or shaking a leg on 'Chalti hai kya 9 se 12' and you will know what we are talking about!

Sartorial Choices - For someone who is a regular at film and fashion events, we are a fan of Varun's personal style statement. Relaxed and easy going; we love the way Varun keeps it casual and yet, makes several heads turn with his sartorial choices. You will always see Varun flaunt funky pair of kicks with denims and a smart jacket (and his signature smile). But, we are also a fan of his formal red carpet looks, where he always manages to get a thumbs up in stylish tuxedos. We also loved the way he rocked the runway during the LFW W/F 2014 finale for Manish Malhotra!

Family Boy - "My family means everything to me," a statement by Varun, given in one of our previous interviews, that truly touched our (and the readers) heart. Varun is a Daddy's boy and the perfect family man. On days when he isn't working round the clock or hanging out with friends, Varun loves spending time with his family over film conversations or better, watching multiple international films, back - to - back.  Although he recently shifted to his swanky new bachelor pad, the actor loves hanging out with his family, whenever he is on a break. He enjoys working with his father, and the duo recently created magic with Judwaa 2.

Happy Birthday to a charming actor with abundant energy, and powerhouse of talent!
We love you, VD.

Love,
The Dancebee

102 Not Out | Film Review

$

You don't always need larger than life sets, fancy locations or opulent outfits for a film to leave an impact. Sometimes, simplicity can do wonders. And, that's exactly the reason why film maker Umesh Shukla's latest offering - 102 Not Out, left us impressed. Personally, I have always believed that good content has the power to go a long way. 102 Not Out - which calls itself an 'ageless comedy', is built on that trustworthy foundation. It has the perfect combination of flawless writing, presentation and performances. It's the simplicity of this film that captivates the audience, and it clearly didn't need any of the so called 'formulas' to create magic.

Set in Mumbai, the film brings together two of Indian Cinema's most loved and respected stalwarts - Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. The two power house performers, who have entertained generations with their incredible films, are seen playing real and raw characters, that strike a chord. After the opening credits, which explores the city of Mumbai rather beautifully, we are quickly introduced to the lead protagonists - Babulal Vakharia (Kapoor), a 75-year-old man who prefers to live a rather dull and boring, morose life. Enter Dattatreya Vakharia (Bachchan), father of Babulal and a 102-year-old veteran, who believes in living life to the fullest. His only aim? To break the record of the world's oldest living man - a Chinese veteran who is 118 years old. And what's his only hindrance towards this goal, you may ask? His uninterested and insipid son, who lives a rather monotonous life. Clearly, both father and son are poles apart. In an attempt to bring some much needed cheer in his son's life, Dattatreya tries one trick after another to change 'Babu' (as he lovingly calls him) for good, but the latter takes some time to get comfortable with these changes, till fate decides to bring its own twist to the tale.

Through some poignant, yet impactful moments, this wonderful slice of life film goes on to teach us how life deserves to be appreciated, and why it is important for us to love ourselves, before anyone else. It teaches an individual to respect and care for oneself. Being sulky, with one step hanging in the past is no good, as it only ends up hurting an individual, more than ever. It highlights the simple joys of life and positivity, while ditching any hint of negativity that often engulfs an individual. Shukla wonderfully takes the audience through a roller coaster ride of emotions, without being too preachy. Likewise, the film maintains a smooth flow, and does not stretch unnecessarily, keeping the audience entertained right through the 102 minutes of running time (interesting how it matches the title and Dattatreya Dadu's age as well).

Laxman Utekar's cinematography breathes life in to the humble journey of the Vakharias, who reside in Suburban Mumbai's Vile Parle. Every little detail of the city stands out beautifully. Saumya Joshi's writing is like a breath of fresh air. It is one of the key elements that keeps this film going strong. Bodhaditya Banerjee's editing is crisp, and maintains a smooth flow. There is not a single moment that feels unnecessary or out of place (a rarity in today's times). The soundtrack composed by Salim-Sulaiman is decent, with 'Bachche ki Jaan' and 'Kulfi' being the most prominent ones. Both tracks are well sung, especially the latter, where Sonu Nigam's vocals add an emotional touch to the scenes that unfold. While the two superstars dominate every scene in the film, Jimit Trivedi makes a mark as the humble local chemist wala Dada - Dhiru, who often visits the Vakharias (and ends up spending most of his time with them).

With Sr Bachchan and Kapoor leading the front, 102 Not Out rests comfortably on two strong, powerful shoulders. After sharing the screen space in blockbuster films of the 70s and 80s, Bachchan and Kapoor are back together after a span of 27 years. However, it won't be wrong to say that the wait was indeed worth it! The incredible actors breathe life into their respective characters with such ease. Well, there is a reason why they are among the 'Real Superstars' of Indian cinema. Bachchan and Kapoor light up the screen with their endearing chemistry, and their charm is sure to melt your heart. So much, that you might just end up feeling like giving the two grand old gentlemen (on screen) a 'jhappi' in this film.

Kapoor's portrayal of the 'self confessed buddha' Babulal is top notch! The actor has been successfully experimenting with his characters in the recent past, ranging from an adorable grandfather in Kapoor & Sons to the menacing Rauf Lala in Agneepath and more. Once again, Kapoor leaves a delightful impression with his effortless act.

Every time you watch Bachchan create magic on the big screen, you can't help but wonder - How? Just how does he do this? One cannot imagine anyone but Senior Bachchan to do complete justice to this jovial, witty and spirited man named Dattatreya. The actor goes all out with his act, while flawlessly stepping into the shoes of a 102-year-old fun loving man. He sings, dances and skilfully makes his way into your heart, and leaves you with goosebumps all over, just before the end credits roll out. Honestly, one cannot have enough adjectives to describe Bachchan's incredible prowess as an actor. All one can say is -- he is the 'Jaan' of this film!!

As captain of the ship, film maker Shukla does a brilliant job of presenting this lovely slice of life film, that beautifully celebrates life. 102 Not Out is all heart, and a pure delight to watch. Please keep a box of tissues ready, you guys. The lovable duo will make you laugh and cry, all through this marvellous ride. The takeaway is a big smile, with warmth and happiness all around. And of course, the joy of watching Bachchan and Kapoor - Indian cinema's finest actors - bond together in an adorable way, is simply priceless!

Verdict: Highly recommended!! Watching a beautiful, yet simple film after ages is pure bliss. Go out with your loved ones, and enjoy every moment.

After all the excitement and buzz around her wedding dates, actress Sonam Kapoor finally tied the knot with her long time beau (and now, husband) Anand Ahuja, during a quaint and peaceful Anand Karaj ceremony in Mumbai earlier today. In what looked like a scene straight from a fairy tale, the newly weds were happily seen posing and exchanging sweet nothings during the rituals, and enjoyed every bit of the moment where they exchanged garlands.  while the guests couldn't stop going gaga over their cuteness.

The Kapoors and Ahujas chose a family bungalow in Bandra (Suburban Mumbai) as the venue for D-day, making it an intimate affair with just family and close friends attending the ceremony. The decor was breathtakingly beautiful, with dominant shades of blues and white flowers (mostly fresh Mogra) all around. Just as the rituals were about to begin, Sonam walked in with a bright smile, along with her brother Harshvardhan, cousins including Arjun Kapoor and friends, holding a dupatta over her head.

While several celebrities chose their best 'Summer Wedding' outfits for the occasion, the highlight of the afternoon were obviously the gorgeous newly weds. Their infectious smiles stole the show, and of course, we couldn't take our eyes off their respective outfits either.

Everybody was anxious to know all about Sonam's bridal outfit. Finally, the look was revealed and Sonam chose to keep the complete look traditional with a Red Bridal Lehanga by designed Anuradha Vakil. A Punjabi wedding is incomplete without the 'Chooda' and pretty Kaleeras, and needless to say, the actress looked every inch a gorgeous Punjabi bride. The Kaleeras worn by her are customised by Mrinalini Chandra, with peacock motifs.

While the couple stole the show with their quirk and cuteness, it was hard to miss all the special moments shared between the siblings. Sonam's sister Rhea and Brother Harshvardhan stood by their loving sibling all through the ceremony, and even shared some adorable messages for their 'Senior'. #SonamKiShaadi was incomplete without these special moments and Aww-worthy memories!

Sonam picked a chevron printed lehanga, paired with a metallic dupatta and grey choli, while Anand Ahuja brought a unique twist to his attire by pairing Nike sneakers with the traditional Bandhgala.

While the couple stole hearts with their fun dance, and looked their charming best while posing for the shutterbugs, their A-list guests stole the post wedding Sangeet. Father of the bride - Anil Kapoor, was among the firsts to take over the dance floor, performing on one of his popular dance tracks from the 80s. The crazy dance and music party hit the next level post midnight, with actor Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan joining Kapoor on the dance floor.

They were later joined by the young brigade - Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, making it a night to remember. Celebrations continued till the wee hours, with guests performing on popular Bollywood numbers and hitting the dance floor like nobody's business!

For her seventeenth year at the Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan chose a mix of summer fresh and glamorous outfits! With her Instagram debut right before the red carpet walk, the former Miss World created some serious buzz on social media, with fans instantly hitting the 'follow' button on her newly created account for updates and BTS shots. This time too, the actress was accompanied by her little princess, daughter Aaradhya, who gave her beautiful mom some stylish company. From twirls to matching glam outfits, the mother - daughter duo made us smile with their charm.

Mrs Bachchan, styled by Aastha Sharma, made heads turn with her beauty and charm. We loved some of her picks this year (more on that a little later), and her make up + hair do won our heart as well. The actress chose to keep her overall look more natural, except for a particular red carpet look, where the eye make up looked 'Bomb'. Stepping out in one stunning look after another, Aishwarya proved why she is and will always be the undisputed queen of the red carpet at Cannes. We have got all of Aishwarya's looks from Cannes 2018, right here. Pick your favourites!

 Day 2
Look 1 - Interviews and Promotions
Outfit: Manish Arora

Look 2: Red Carpet
Outfit: Rami Kadi

The 'Dancebee' Pick - Undoubtedly, our pick for this year's best outfit worn by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has got to be this dramatic butterfly gown by Dubai based designer Michael Cinco. Right from the embellished 3 meter long train to the colour and embroidery; what's not to love here? Interestingly, the designer had shared a sneak peek into the making of this stunning outfit on the first day of 2018. Little did we know that the outfit would be seen on Mrs Bachchan at one of her most awaited appearances. Aishwarya pulled off this look gracefully, complete with the perfect eye make up, bold lips and sleek hair (with centre parting). The highlight of this outfit has got to be the exquisite butterfly inspired train, which is fully embroidered, with intricate silk thread work and studded with Swarovski crystals. What makes this outfit interesting is the fact that it took over 3000 hours to complete! Honestly, we think the actress did complete justice to this mesmerising outfit with her beautiful and poised walk on the red carpet. The shutterbug frenzy was meant to be!!

Women Know How to Multitask Very Well - Kareena Kapoor Khan | Interview

When the queen arrives, she arrives in style! Veere Di Wedding marks her return on the big screen after a two year hiatus, but one never really felt like they were missing out on Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actress, who was last seen in Udta Punjab, was pretty much in the news throughout her pregnancy 'break'. From brand shoots to posing for magazine covers and attending launch events; Kareena made a strong statement by ditching long naps and joining millions of women across the globe, who are known to skilfully multi task, even if that means turning show stopper for designer Sabyasachi at Lakme Fashion Week, proudly flaunting a baby bump.

On a rather hot and sunny afternoon, we caught up with the actress. Looking fresh as ever, she stepped out of her vanity, dressed in a Polka Dot dress by Michael Kors. While the shutterbugs began to get the perfect picture, Bebo was rather unfazed. "Ghar jaldi jaana hain, Taimur is waiting," she quipped, requesting the paparazzi to hurry. Within minutes, she entered the studio and settled down for a quick chat! While excerpts from the interaction follow, I must share an interesting moment. Just before wrapping up the day's work, the actress stepped out in smart casuals. While Kareena was obliging fans with selfies and discussing the week's schedule with her manager, I walked past her with a smile. Our eyes met, and she smiled back. Within seconds, I heard her say, "So hot these days na! Always carry a bottle of water. It's essential to keep yourself hydrated all year round. Stay hydrated, okay!" I smiled (again) and thanked the actress. Amused, and quite taken aback. Reason? Well, I had forgotten to carry my bottle that day. Just a few minutes before this incident, I was checking with the team if there was any mineral water around. Unfortunately, there wasn't any, and I had to wait till the end to go out and buy one. So, Bebo's advice was definitely appreciated! Well, that's Kareena Kapoor Khan for you. We don't call her the 'Queen' for nothin'. And now, it's time we 'dive' into our chat with the stunning star:

Is there any personality trait in Kalindi that you could relate to?
Actually, Kalindi is very different from the person that I am. I am very practical, and I am sure of what I want or would like to do. People who know me will tell that I am very head strong. If I make a decision, then I will stick to it. That way, Kalindi is completely opposite.

At any point in life, did you develop cold feet while being in a relationship? Like your character - Kalindi in the film?
Not at all! Everyone knows that I have never been commitment phobic. Kalindi is a lot like that, but not me. I have always been very clear about my choices in life. Even generally, as a person, I am very clear about what I want to do. So, I've never really been in that kind of a situation.

We have seen some successful women centric films in the recent past, with many of them crossing the 100cr mark at the BO. Do you think people are more open to watching a woman centric film in the Indian industry today, compared to a few decades ago?
Of course! There have been a lot of women oriented films, with the female actor carrying the film on her shoulders, and they have successfully done it. Right from The Dirty Picture to Queen and now, Raazi; these films have done really well. I believe that if the film is good, and has the perfect script, then it doesn't matter whether it's a hero or a heroine leading it. If the film is made well, then the audience will surely support it!

A lot of people usually associate the Hindi film 'Heroine' to just be a glamorous addition to the cast? With powerful female characters dominating the scene, do you think that stereotype is finally breaking away?
Absolutely! Whether it is mainstream cinema or any other kind, ultimately what matters is your film. I know it's quite a task to constantly look perfect in front of the camera and maintain your hair, make up. But, all of that is secondary, especially when compared to your character and what you are doing in the film. It's important to take your job seriously, which we all do.

If the film is made well, then the audience will surely support it

During the filming of Veere... it was great to see you juggling multiple duties - that of an actor and mom. Did you face any challenges while maintaining that fine balance?
Not really. Perhaps, it was just the time factor. There are days when I want to spend all my time with Taimur. But, I think women know how to multi-task very well. Also, I am very happy that I have an excellent support system, and that's one of the main reasons why I can work and make time out for the family as well.

2018 will see many star kids make a splash in the industry. If you look back to the time when you debuted with Refugee, was there any pressure or baggage that came with being a 'Kapoor' kid?
I think that lasts only till your first film hits the screen. After that, all that you do - including the way you choose the scripts, films or even the way you lead your life - is your own.

Taimur has constantly been the apple of social media's eye, with videos and photos of him posted all over. Do you think all of it takes away from the little one's privacy?
Honestly, I don't know what to say! I just feel the media shouldn't be taking so many pictures all the time. He is still a little boy, and all of us are quite concerned. I do understand the media's point of view, so what can I do? (pauses) All I can do is request people to not do that.

I am very happy that I have an excellent support system, and that's one of the main reasons why I can work and make time out for the family as well

Will we see you do more films in the coming year, and would it be a conscious decision to limit your time on the sets?
Well, I did Veere... (Veere Di Wedding) right after Taimur's birth. But, I definitely want to spend more time with my baby, rather than a set. So, I've decided to do just one film a year.

Have you ever imagined a life without facing the camera?
Ummm.. I can imagine my life without it. Maybe, 20 - 30 years later. But, having said that, I would always want to work. At least, till the time I can. The thing is, I can't think of what I would be doing 30 years later, but hopefully, I will always work. Or let's put it this way - I will always try to keep working!

Are your excited to watch Kareena Kapoor Khan as Kalindi Puri in Veere Di Wedding?

10 Travel Essentials For Every Girl

Be it rain, snow or sunshine, none of us can do without at least one long, relaxed and well planned holiday. While some choose to travel solo, others may take off with their friends or family. In between our crazy work schedules and insane lifestyle, all of us can do with some time out. It can be for an adventurous trip, or a sunny day out at the beach! After all, we all swear by the saying that goes - "To travel is to live." Oh yes, indeed!

Every destination needs its own list of must haves. From your tropical swimsuit for a beach day or the perfect pair of boots that you may have kept aside for an afternoon surrounded by snow; we've all got our checklist full! In addition, all of us have got that 'One' important list of essentials, that we can't do without on any trip. Destinations may change, but these essentials clearly don't. Some items are always a must have. Of course, I've got mine too. A few HG products, some essentials here and there, and a few items that turn 'life savers' during a long trip! Here's my list of 10 travel essentials that I can't do without. PS: Don't forget to comment below with your favourites.

Travel Sized Skin Care Kit: Just coz' you are traveling doesn't mean that you skip a routine that you swear by. So, the next time you visit the beauty store, look out for travel sized kits or sample packets  of the products that you use for CTM (cleansing, toning and moisturising). Also, it would be advisable that you carry a moisturiser that contains at least SPF 30 or more. Never leave your home without sunscreen!

Our Pick: Clinique 3-Step Intro / Travel Kit

Hand Sanitizer: Be it a road trip or bird watching, you gotta keep hygiene in mind! Especially around areas that have limited access to wash rooms or hand wash basins. You definitely don't wanna mess around with dirty hands on the dinner table, after a long day out. Hand sanitizers are a saviour, especially when you have to use public restrooms or eat at highway joints.

Our Pick: Himalaya Pure Hands Hand Sanitizer

Refillable Travel Bottles: A moisturiser here, and a body lotion there. All of us have several everyday skin and hair care products that we can't do without. But, it's impossible to carry the full sized products, and most of them may not come in travel sized kits. That's when these tiny bottles come handy. Fill in with your product, and change the refill as per requirement on your next trip! I mostly use these bottles for my body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. It's all about traveling light, baby!

Make Up Kit: While traveling, I prefer using minimal products or choose to go with just the moisturiser and lip balm. It completely depends on my mood. But, I always carry a small make up bag, with some items that I swear by. Always have a good concealer, eye liner and lip balm / tint on you. These products are good enough to spruce up your look even on a dull day. If you've got space for more, add on a brow product and some mascara! Oh, and don't forget to make a statement with some cool make up pouch.

Facial Mist: One of my HG products! I never leave home for a long trip without this. A spritz of this and you feel refreshed, even on a hot, sultry summer afternoon. Perfect for humid summers and even monsoons.

Our Pick: Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist

Sunglasses: I usually carry two pairs, or sometimes three (especially during summer). I can do without a hat or my favourite baseball caps, but it is impossible to step out for a trip without a pair of cool sunglasses.

Facial Wipes: These multi-use wipes are super handy. From a make up wipe after a long day to taking off all the dirt and grime on your face, in between a road trip or simply using it to wipe your hands after a meal; facial wet wipes have fast become a must have for every travel bag! Can't do without it.

Our Pick: Kara Make Up Removal Wipes

Toilet Seat Covers: We all know the condition of most public toilets. It becomes extremely difficult to find a proper rest room, especially during a road trip. While driving on the highway, you might end up finding one at a fuel station, but these restrooms do get tricky to use. Having a disposable toilet seat cover helps. Big time! You can also carry a small can of Toilet sanitizer spray for added protection and safety.

Tampons / Sanitary Pad: You are out on a long road trip. Zooming past villages or areas that may have limited access to sanitary hygiene items. And what if it's time for your periods to arrive and say, 'Well, Hello girl! I am back.' Always remember - its important to have a back up and / or a solution ready for everything. Keep your tampon or choice of sanitary pad pack ready with you always. You never know when it might just be 'that time of the month' (additionally, using a tracker app definitely helps to plan and organise things in advance).

Medicine / First Aid Kit: A habit that my Dad always swear by, and insists that I must too. Carrying your own small pouch of first aid / medicine always helps. Not every hotel may have one, and even a chemist may just get difficult to locate. Hence, a few basic items - including band aids, burn / wound cream like soframycin, small pain relief balm / cream / spray, paracetamol and prescribed medicines (if any) are a must.

Bonus: Travel Charger - You definitely can't do without this one! Especially on long drives, trail walks or an entire day at the sanctuary. Basically, any place where you may not have access to a charging point for long. Forget pictures, it's an important item when it comes to any form of emergency (in order order to make a call or send across an SOS).

If there is anyone from the Indian film industry who has promoted Yoga like no other, it is Shilpa Shetty Kundra. The actress and entrepreneur, who often takes to social media and discusses the importance of overall wellbeing, has always spoken about the benefits of this ancient exercise and healing form. With a perfectly toned body that inspires several fans everyday, Shilpa has always advocated the art of eating well and balancing it out with a dedicated exercise routine everyday. Her 'Sunday Binge' videos have always been a 'treat' to watch on social media. However, the actress confesses that it is 'Yoga' that helps her maintain this fine balance.

On International Yoga Day, here's Shilpa talking about her workout routine, diet and why she has always focused on the benefits of Yoga.

What is daily workout routine like?
If I can't do my entire workout regime, I make sure that I concentrate on my breathing for at least 15 minutes a day. I follow my fitness schedule thrice a week. It includes Yoga and weight training. There are also rope workouts, which I really enjoy learning. I am also doing advance yoga right now, so that requires a lot of core strength building. You need to understand that once you are over 35 years of age, you lose a lot of muscle mass and bone density. You need to work on strength and agility. There are different kinds of workouts that help you target different problems and different body parts.

You need to understand that once you are over 35 years of age, you lose a lot of muscle mass and bone density. You need to work on strength and agility

You mentioned that you focus on Yoga and Weight Training. So, do you devote some time for cardio as well?
I just walk take the stairs wherever I can. There is no separate cardio session that I focus on.

Diet plays a crucial role in overall well being. What are some of the rules you have set, when it comes to food? Is there any specific diet that you follow?
I have made a few modifications. I eat a heavy breakfast, heavy lunch and a lighter dinner. You only need energy in the day that is why we need to keep the carbs low at night. I take a high-protein fibre diet. It is important to choose the right carbs. I eat lots of raw vegetables and fruits, that have fibre and minerals.

You feel peaceful after doing yoga and peace equals tohappiness. I feel yoga is the road to happiness

What are some food items that you try to avoid?
I try to avoid refined things like white sugar, white bread and fine flour. Not so much rice though. I try and stick to red rice and brown rice. A few times, if I like to have naan with butter or biryani, I do
indulge in it.

Water intake is another important element, that people often forget. How do you ensure your water intake is balanced?
I have at least two litres of water, that is, eight to 10 glasses of water. It may not necessarily be just water. It can be lime water with mint. I always carry a glass bottle that has mint, sauf (fennel seed)
and jeera (black cumin).

You have always stressed on the importance of Yoga. When was the first time you leaned towards this ancient form of exercise?
I was suffering from cervical spondylosis and my physiotherapist advised me to do yoga. That is how I got into this and realised that it not only healed my neck, but had strengthened it as well. The most important thing about any injury is that you need to strengthen it back again from the core. And yoga helps you do that. Yoga is quite brilliant. You feel peaceful after doing yoga and peace equals to happiness. I feel yoga is the road to happiness.

What is that one special element about Yoga, that stands out for you?
Yoga is all about body balance and building core strength. It not only strengthens your body, but also your mind and bones and the alignment of these three aspects of your life make you far more centred, energetic and stronger.

What according to you would be the best time to perform Yoga?
Early morning or evening before sunset is great, as long as you haven’t eaten at least 2-3 hrs before.

Another thing that you have stressed on is 'Savasana'. What makes this simple, yet crucial asana so special?
Savasana relaxes the body and stomach breathing improves circulation, concentration and relaxes the muscles. It is greatly beneficial for mental health as it calms the nerves.

The Untold Story | All You Need to Know About Akshay Kumar Starrer - Gold

$

Akshay Kumar's upcoming sports drama - Gold, is creating some serious buzz and that too, for all the right reasons. The film has been in the news for it's intriguing trailer, interesting trivia related to real incidents from 1948 event, music (with Naino ne Baandhi leading the list) among others. However, let us start with the most talked about aspect related to the film. Akshay's character - Tapan Das, has been creating maximum buzz across quarters. He is the main protagonist of this sports drama, which focuses on Independent India's first Gold win. The actor will be seen essaying a Bengali character for the first time.

Contrary to reports and assumptions around Akshay's character being a coach, it is now revealed that the character - Tapan Das, is actually a manager of the Indian Hockey team in this film. He plays an important role in forming the team and leading them towards victory. The trailer and promos have given us enough glimpses of the determined manager, wanting to win the 'Gold' for Independent India at the 1948 Olympics. Actor Kunal Kapoor will be seen playing the coach, while actors Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal play prominent players. Television actress Mouni Roy (making her Bollywood debut) will be seen essaying Kumar's better half in the film.

Gold has been shot across India and United Kingdom, capturing some timeless aspects of the pre-independent era. Keeping in mind the fact that this is a period drama set in the mid 20th century, the team has worked on each department with great detail. Right from the casting to props, locations and even getting together close to 2000+ actors for vital scenes, Kagti & Co have left no stone unturned, in order to recreate the 1940s with perfection.

With Gold being just a fortnight away from release, the makers are keen on keeping up with the buzz, with special announcements and events. The cast came together for a special trailer launch in Suburban Mumbai last evening, where it was confirmed that Gold would also be released in IMAX format. The film will be digitally re-mastered for release across India (at IMAX theatres) and select international markets. "It is very exciting that Gold will be releasing in the IMAX format. It offers a majestic experience. The film has been shot at such great scale and in IMAX, the experience will only be further enhanced," stated director Reema Kagti. This makes 'Gold' the sixth Indian film to have an IMAX release.

Kagti's sports drama aims to take the audience back in time, where they will witness the struggle of a team, that was determined to make the nation proud. Produced by Excel Entertainment, Gold releases on Independence Day (August 15) this year. Well, the makers couldn't have asked for a better release date for a film based on one of the most glorious moments in the history of Indian sports. It was on August 12, seventy years ago, when India beat Great Britain 4-0 to bring home the Gold. Hence, it is a great opportunity for the makers to mark 70 years of Free India’s first Gold medal with their sports drama, and pay the perfect tribute to the unsung heroes of Indian Sports.

Ever since the first look of the film was released on social media last year, there has been immense buzz around Ajay Devgn's period drama based on the great Maratha warrior - Tanaji Malusare. The film, titled 'Tanaji' - The Unsung Warrior, unravels the courage and bravado of the principle character, wherein the audience will witness Devgn stepping into the shoes of the celebrated 17th century Maratha warrior from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's troop. There have been several exciting updates related to the film, the latest being a confirmation, that the film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. This will the first period - costume drama under the T-series banner.

Both Kumar and Devgn have had a successful association in the past, with the March 2018 release - Raid, being their most recent hit. Kumar had recently flown to London, in order to meet Devgn and discuss details related to the film - 'Tanaji'. After producing films from various genres, ranging from romance, action, comedy to horror; it would be interesting to see T-Series make a mark with their first film in the period-drama space.

The film would be set in the 17th century, where the unsung story of Tanaji Malusare - one of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's most popular and brave generals, will be explored. While most history aficionados and students might be well versed with Malusare's important role in the 'Battle of Sinhagad' of 1670, there are several other aspects from the brave leader's life that may have gone unnoticed. The film aims to bring to life the story of a warrior, who fought for his people and soil, with immense courage.

Tanaji - The Unsung Warrior will be helmed by film maker Om Raut, who had earlier directed the Subodh Bhave starrer 'Lokmanya - Ek Yugpurush' (2015). This would Raut's second biopic, after his debut directorial venture, based on the life of great leader Bal Gangadhar Tilak. There have been reports that suggest how Kajol might star opposite Devgn as Malusare's wife, or that Saif Ali Khan might be seen as the antagonist. However, there has been no official confirmation on this front.

Currently, Devgn is filming for Akiv Ali's next and Inder Kumar's Total Dhamaal. The cast and crew are scheduled to start shooting for 'Tanaji' in September 2018. The film is expected to hit the screens in 2019.

Are you excited to watch Ajay Devgn as Tanaji Malusare? What are your thoughts on the first look?
